The Steelers brought home their sixth championship this year and now the Penguins are fighting for a playoff spot. Will they make it and make this Pittsburgh's year? Let's hope so. They are currently in 8th place and can swing anywhere between 8th and 5th in a matter of one game. They've been playing strong recently with the addition of Kunitz so I am going to say they make the play offs, even if it is just squeezing by in 8th place. How far they make it in the playoff depends on how well they can play together and if they can play each game without mistakes (blowing 3-5 point leads).
How about those Pirates? They haven't had a winning season since before I can remember .. but they are 8-4 in Spring training so far. Is this the year that the Pirates show some potential? I'm going to say they finally have a winning season .. everythting after this is just long overdue miracles.

Maybe this is the year we pull off the Trifecta of sports championships here in Pittsburgh. The Steelers got it kicked off with their sixth superbowl ring and now the Penguins are looking better than they have all season. And at the right time too. Huge game tonight versus florida but we seem to be back on track. Now all we need is the Pirates to get back to former glory years. Thats more wishful thinking than intelligence but you never know. I'd love to see this city in september with meaningful baseball still being played, the Steelers back in action, and the Penguins drinking from the Stanley Cup.
